E90 - CiC 2019

Hello all,

I have 2019-04 e90 LCI with CiC unit Professional and USB in glove-box.

Via old USB (which is now somehow lost) I was able to import music into my BMW, but I somehow lost it.

So I buy new one, format it FAT32 try to import, but car doesn't recognize it. I tried also with 2 others, same....

Is there any tool to "special format" USB drive in order to import music ?

Thank you.

How big is the USB drive?

How did you format it Fat32?

It has to be FAT32 not exFat formatting or anything else, FAT32 on windows will only format 32GB, so if it is bigger than that you can make a 32GB partition and format that and leave the rest unused if it is larger than 32GB and that will work. Also use windows to format it if you can as it seems more reliable than Mac formatting Fat32. There are ways to format larger partitions with FAT32 but not sure the car will read it as it makes the block size larger.

It will read larger Fat32 volumes.

I use 128gb all the time.
