I bought the emulator and camera from autofocustech. I am getting a blank screen. I triple checked all my wires. It does switch to camera view instantly but to a blank screen. Any ideas ?

De-pinning the quadlock is pretty conventional if you're familiar with these types of connectors. As I recall, the green parts come out and then you stick a small screwdriver in the little slot to unlock the pin. I don't think you need to do that for the Carsystems though -- you have to cut the CAN lines. |

Same as the OP and I don't have a PDC:
$3AG to the VO in the CAS and FRM modules. MACRO_PDC aktiv MACRO_REARVIEW aktiv RVC_CIC wert_23 MACRO_L6_PARKMENU aktiv PDC_DIRECTION vertikal I also tried setting the values for RVC_CIC to different ones. Some values made the screen go green. |

I gave up on de-pinning the quadlock and just cut and spliced everything in place. Everything works, but only once. Once I shift of out of reverse, or navigate away from camera view, I cannot get it back. Car has to be shut off long enough for CIC to shut down for things to work again. CAN wires are twisted as much as I could get them, though I fail to see how that could have anything to do with it. |

To those who have installed Bimmertech or Carsystems emulator: What is the behavior after shifting out of reverse? I believe it should work like factory PDC systems and stay on until some distance is traveled or speed is reached. My camera is shutting off immediately after shifting out of reverse. Wondering if there is related coding about PDC post-shift behavior that is needed...?

Best $130 mod by far for any e90 with CIC iDrive.

My guess is your camera is dead. Confirm by plugging it into a TV and checking it there. You’ll need to power it somehow.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there any coding option to change to fix this? Every time I go into reverse the image is flipped horizontally. If I restart the car, it corrects itself. Such an annoying issue...

What if you cross your arms so that your right hand is on the left side of the steering wheel and vice-versa?

I ended up wiring my camera to the back of my car and connected the red powers together. The camera ended up working without having to mount the ground wire. I ended up leaving it like this for now as Im planning to hide the wires better on the weekend.
Out of curiosity is the ground needed? Whats the worst that can happen if I don't mount this wire? Always thought I needed it to complete the loop and power the camera up

No issues yet. Did this on my 335d and my parents 335d. Parents love it.
