2 random wires not connected to anything in trunk
Back story: I was cruising, and accidentally hit a huge bump on the road. All of a sudden, all of the passenger side speakers stopped working. I turned my radio off and back on, and the problem cured itself.
Today I decided to check it my car is fitted with the Logic i7 sound system by looking at the amplifier. I popped off this plastic trim piece covering it, and noticed a wire not connected to anything. It was nicely wrapped in a fabric piece about to completely disintegrate. I attached an image. I then decided to keep digging, and noticed another random wire not connected to anything. This one was also wrapped in that same fabric. This one is located in the trunk, under this one huge carpet piece that should be covering the spare tire this car doesn't have. I attached another image. My guess is that those wires should be a part of that idrive system this car wasn't equipped with, but bmw was lazy to remove them… idk. So far nothing seems broken, but let me know what you think. |

Car made before 2010 had prewiring . This meant that is you decided to
add something later like CD changer only the module would have to be installed and programmed.(wiring already in place for it) Sat module is also another common one. There also some other disconnected cables like the shipping cable near the battery used to put the car into deep sleep while shipping. This is advantage they don't do it any more for cost reason's . If you DIY it's and advantage. |
