Easiest way to install INPA and other BMW Tools in 2021?
I'm just installing this on a clean install of Windows.
I'm wondering if Mike's Easy BMW tools, or Bimmergeeks is the way to go. Which one is more up to date, or less buggy with E90 2009, or are they the same thing? For Mike's BMW tools, last time I tried installing I got a "Versions do not match" "SGBD version: 6.00 (in INPA) SGBD version: 21.000" error. Bimmergeeks had the same error but Bimmergeeks also had some sub-menus in German. I believe that the SGBD error can be resolved by updating the SPDaten files. Bimmergeeks has some available on their website. Are those reasonably up to date? Those get installed using the BMW Easy tools, right? Thank you for your help!

The latest version of tools is : BMW Standard Tools 2.12.2
Latest version of daten files is 68.1, but you can get away with a slightly older version for your year of car https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApTXN2OB77W_iaQ8...12O1g?e=ylheRa

Mostly these error are just warnings and there is little risk. The only why around this would be locating the latest versions, probably only available in German and living with the related scripts in German. I went through this back in 2012 and there is no easy fix. Back then, everything needed to run inside a Windows XP virtual machine. Bimmer geeks has a pretty stable version and it's worked well for me. I just ignore the version mismatch errors. |

Thank you very much for this sir! One question, can you recommend a K+DCAN cable that is good to use with these programs? I probably won't code that much, but will use it to register a new battery and troubleshoot mat sensor issue, but ofcourse, coding would be nice also. Thanks in advance. |
