cd player problem

hi i was wondering if anyone had any ideas why the cd icon isn't not highlighted on my idrive screen ? when i click the idrive button in the centre console it will not selected it and when i put a cd into it it takes it but nothing happens . i'm a bit baffled by this . i am tempted to take it to bmw and have the software updated to see if this is the issue or maybe its a problem with the cic ? i have a 2008 320 edition m sport . any ideas would be appreciated .

thanks in advance

The reboot procedure for CCC & CIC is as follows:
CCC: with the ignition on & idrive running, press & hold the CD eject button, DVD eject botton the volume knob at the same time; the screen should go blank, then boot up 30 seconds later or so.
CIC: with the ignition on, press & hold the volume knob for about 20 seconds to force a reboot.

2008 was the changeover year from CCC to CIC, hence I put the instructions for resetting both on my previous post.

you need to code your CIC to cd-changer option

I did the CCC reset on my wife's 2007 and it reset and so far no CD disc errors. Fingers still crossed. Everything gets old!

Thanks
