Unable to read MULF but can read all other module

Happy America Day everyone, I am coming to you with a weird problem because I need your help. I have a 2009 e92 that has a TCU, MULF, and SAT Radio. Everything works in regards to sound. AUX, USB, CD, Door Chime, and Key chime with all that working I'm noticing a weird problem with the MOST Bus, everything I read says that with power on if the fiber connector is removed from a module the module should emit a red light however, in my car none of the modules produce this light (and everything works).

Now the reason I'm troubleshooting this is because I am unable to read the MULF can anyone explain to me why I get sound and operation from the USB (MULF module) but can't communicate with the module with NCS Expert.

Any help troubleshooting this is greatly appreciated. Thank you

FYI. All previous troubleshooting with pics can be found here.

My recollection is that NCS cannot code the MULF directly via CAN BUS from the OBD port.

Some coding options can be made indirectly using NCS via OBD port by choosing the appropriate options in CCC/CIC.

Or I think you can code the MULF directly with an ICOM adapter.

what exactly do you need to accomplish i.e. what is the MULF not doing that you need it to do?

Icom cable is needed to read and program Most Bus Modules
on cars made after 3/07 when they changed from the K can
bus to the D can bus.

At least that is what a lot of people have run into .

Description of cables in the above link.

I'm not sure what you mean - don't all E9x have MOST (ICOM-B) ports?

ICOM-B MOST module is not needed to code MULF and other MOST modules on e9x
this requirement is only for 2003-2005 e65 and e60 cars
in e9x and e7x platform the headunit is used as a gateway from DCAN to MOST and it is forwarding packets between buses
the only difference using ICOM B on e9x when you need to reflash CCC or CIC HU, it is much faster to do via MOST due MOST bus speed (25Mbit vs 500kbits over DCAN).

Good to know.

I haven't had a MULF in a long, long time but vaguely remember NCS failing to recognize the unit (this in a 2009 E90 335xi with CIC long since retrofitted with 6FL and Combox). DCAN access was clearly possible since Tool32 could change the VIN and INPA could assess errors but for some reason, NCSExpert threw errors.

Any thoughts about why that might have been? Or why the OP seems to be having a similar problem?

I am trying to activate Bluetooth, and also activate some of the functions of the USB port connection.

Was this for me? do you need to see what I see on NCS when I try to access the module?
