Because the rear tyres wear quicker than the front and if you have narrows and wides you cant change them so they wear off the same. The rft are expensive so you put on non rft at the back and leave the front ones because the still have 50% left. Unfortunately that doesn't work. You just have to change all4 to non rft.

I've got mixed on at the moment on my e92 335D with 225M 19" RE050 rft on the front and Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the back I've had this set up for about 6 weeks had no handling, yes it does on a bumpy road bump steer slightly but no worse than having a lowered car, I've done a trackday on them also with no issues.
i have phoned my insurance to notify them of the tyre match and they just said it written down on my file but just change them to normal once there worn i will fit a normal on the front soon as tread is low now

Just switched from 17" rft's to 18" non rft's
Omg what a difference. Feels like i went out and bought a new car. Rft's should burn in hell |
