I have a 2008, E90 328i with 77,000 miles. Had smoke coming out the vents, under the hood. and a burning smell of oil. I took the car to my Indy Mechanic. He found a oil pan gasket leak, rear differential leak, and valve cover gasket leak. He repaired the oil pan gasket, and rear differential leak. He told me my E90 is covered under the SULEV warranty, for 15 years, 150,000 miles, and the VCG would be repaired by the dealer. I also had other repairs done that I paid for at the Indy shop that are covered under the SULEV warranty, and at the time, I didn't know. I was wondering if BMW will refund me for parts I replaced, that are covered under the SULEV warranty? My Indy mechanic also said my engine coils are bad. Has anyone had any repairs done under the SULEV warranty, and did the dealer give you a hard time to fix then? I'm in Northern NJ, and would like to know what dealer fixed the issues, and which gave you a hard time? Thanks.

Here is some info from a thread I started over a week ago. A lot of people don't realize they bought a SULEV car. The car I am buying has it also, but the owner didn't tell me. I noticed it on the CarFax, and then posted my thread after the fact to see what members here could tell me about it. Check it out. I doubt BMW will reimburse you.

I’m going to call BMWNA, and explain my car was covered under the SUELV warranty, and the dealer, nor did I know it was covered. So I paid to have the VCG fixed. Let’s see what happens.

2011 328. crankcase vent failed and caused a loud squealing noise and engine ran horrible. crankcase vent is built into the valve cover. dealer had no problem performing the repair under the sulev warranty. they replaced the valve cover.
