Tim would you be interested in going to the dragstrip? We were thinking of going to run Grant's and Todd's car and a bike. We could certainly help you hole shotting it if you haven't had experience there

not sure yet.....i'm in the middle of a few threads regarding subframe bushings and differential bushings.....i'm thinking of upgrading both of those real soon to help sure up the rear a bit and prevent any future issues. I'd certainly go and watch you guys though. I spent a few hours in the LP640 yesterday and my car feels slow again
This hot weather won't give favorable results though either.

Well, we made it home. To my surprise, the E93 is quite nimble and DCT is extremely fun. I never thought I would consider anything but a manual for my next car, but the 10 hour drive home is definitely making me question that. The noise that car makes, combined with the top down Kind of makes me want to trade both of mine for the AW with coral red interior E92 M3 that is at Orr

Yeah it's definitely a good idea to do that. The heat will make everyone slow but as long the car has some really good tires (i.e not run flats, or PS2's) then you should be able to get a respectable time for the DA.
Sometimes at State Capitol (track goes hot at 10am) you can catch cool weather if you are there early on Sunday which makes a difference for sure.

I'd love to see the LP640 make a pass or two

From everything I'm reading and seeing the DCT is a kick-ass transmission (with the necessary reliability to boot!! While I don't regret getting a 6-speed in mine, if I replace it with another M down the road I'm 90% sure that's what I'll spec out!

You need to convince her to do some autocrossing. Heck I need to do some autocrossing...

Yeah, it was much better than expected. I've been trying to convince her, but I doubt she will anytime soon, just because she is going to be so busy for the next 3 years. Maybe later on though.

Ah, sounds like someone's starting a PhD program! Well even for daily driving she'll enjoy it. Nothing like stomping the pedal and feeling the pull all the way to 8+K!

She is starting her residency this month. I agree though, awesome daily driver.

Only way I would buy a car with DCT is if I had another car to drive that was manual, that's just me.
