Is there a recommended tire thread?
Hi!
I searched for threads on tires but find a bunch of sellers/buyers. I need to get 4 new ones and don't want the runflats. Recommendations? I want to get all-seasons, and honestly I'll never hit 100 mph so don't need super performance tires. Just doing a lot of driving here in Massachusetts. |

I'm in Mass., and I'm not switching tires for seasons so I want all-season.
Driving style is normal, no track driving here. Road noise is probably my first criteria, my runflats provide a lot of road noise. Durability/handling/traction - average is probably ok given my mellow driving but higher levels of those categories is nice! |

Just go to Tire Rack's website and order the round ones.

I'm in CT and have run the General's All Season for a few years. According to Tire Rack reviews great value for the price - especially if you buy when they have a rebate. I did buy a spare - however tires and spare were cheaper than run flats. They are not the ultimate tire but a solid performer in rain and snow.

This is very funny by the way
Seriously though...I would run with Michelin or Continental grand touring tires. Do the research on tire rack via reviews, etc. to find the exact tire that works for you. I personally run dedicated summer and winter tires in Maryland. I would think a good set of snow tires in Boston would be a good idea. |

I just installed 2 weeks ago ECSTA PA51 - Ultra High Performance All-Season from tirerack. Drove in the rain for a 4 hour drive from Houston to Dallas and handling was very good. Don't know how it performs in snow. Reviews seem to be good.

Either the Michelin pilot AS/3+ or continental DWS06 would be my choice if I had to pick no season tires

For grip but also driveability in the rain the Michelin PS4S are amazing tires as they are the updated version of Pilot Super Sports. For slightly cheaper tires the Continental Extreme Contact Sports are amazing for their durability while only having a small performance decrease. For all seasons the Conti DWS06s are simply amazing with ridiculous tread life

Conti DWS or whatever is the equivalent model now.
Last time I bought them they were around 125 each at tire rack. Smooth quite ride and they last a long time. great reviews at tire rack they will compare the tires in this catagorys and also have user reviews. Also the subforums here are highly useful there is one just for wheels , tires and suspension. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12 Last edited by ctuna; 11-12-2019 at 01:22 PM.. |

I enjoyed the Conti DWS years ago. They handled light snow without any issues. Good dry grip. However they wore fast. Heard the DWS06 improved on wear. But I've never tried them.
My friend has the Michelin AS3. So far so good. I am currently running Toyo Proxes 4+ and so far so good. Really enjoy the supple ride. Wet grip is great. Haven't tried them on the snow yet. This is with the 330i RWD. |

I have Toyo Extensa HP2s have no complaints other than their grip is minimal on packed snow/ice. Everything else is perfect. Dry/wet grip, tread life, road noise, handles potholes well etc

I work in the industry. Get Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ in your factory sizes. Meets all your criteria, best A/S by a large margin. If you have a smaller budget I can give you another recommendation but those aren't really that expensive when compared to performance "summer" tires. They will last quite a while too.
