Adding DEF directly to the Active tank

Am I missing something with the DEF fill? I can easily fill the passive tank as the DEF fluid just flows right into it. However if I try to fill the active tank no fluid is taken in...and if I squeeze the bottle it all just pours out of the active filler tube.
My pump to draw from the passive tank has gone bad, which is why im trying to manually fill the active tank since im 500 miles from no start now.

There is a seal/door that must be pushed open in the fill port by the filler bottle. Make sure you are really pushing the bottle all the way in. You should not have to squeeze the bottle, it should just flow in by gravity.

I'll try again. Im using the VW bottle that fits the ports. Ghe lower takes fluid with ease. The car did sit for year so there might be a clog.

No go, even got a new bottle after trying to tighten the first one too hard and having it shatter the plastic. Looks like I'll have to find another way to inject fluid into the active tank, bypassing the fill port.

Sounds like you are mixing up the active and passive tank ports (filler locations):
"[The] lower takes fluid with ease."

FWIW, I cannot get any fluid into the top, or passive tank. Seems a common problem.

A warranty solution?
