Looking into my options to rebuild the Torque Converter as I'd rather not dealer it, last time they had my car for over a month. Level10 @ $800 seems to be the highest but most reputable. I can get a used TC for $500 and run that until it needs rebuilt, would have to install it myself though |

Might as well take care of both "weaknesses" at the same time, just find a reputable shop to do the installs since they both sound labor/tool intensive

Terry helped me fix the fuel cut issue, with a 2k rpm quick brake boost I spun like crazy but got a solid time, ambient was only 26 F so no small wonder I had no traction
Not my best but the best I have a vbox log for, at the strip with a 1.65 60' I should be 11.7x with this setup: 0-60: 3.59s 0-100: 8.68s 1/8: 7.69 @ 93.5mph 1/4: 11.92 @ 117.51mph 60' : 1.81s (spun most of first gear, got sideways a bit!) Took my seats out and went to the track, but the boneheads had no unleaded race fuel so I was running on 91. Even with meth the car wouldn't boost over 14-15psi and was only good for mid 12s.
Got back home and put a 50/50 mix of E85 and 93 in, ran at my usual spot which is completely flat but not too good for traction. Weather was about 42 F but humidity was 92% which hurt up top, probably could have picked up at least 1-1.5mph in normal 40-50% humidity. At the track I was cutting pretty decent 1.6x 60' times, so 11.7 is in the bag if I decide to go back out (90 min drive so that's a big if). Still have my CP-E DP and Big Tom FMIC sitting in my garage, so if I get those installed I'm really hoping to bring the times down to 11.4-11.5 range assuming a 25-35whp bump. |

The elevation is probably hurting your times a little bit. 75k feet above sea level is probably hurting you by a few tenths. |

If it's not a lot to ask and/or possible, it would be nice for you to do vbox runs under as close to similar conditions for FMIC and then FMIC+DPs, or vice versa depending on however would be most effective/efficient. That data would help clear up the debate regarding whether or not a bigger FMIC would make much of a difference on a car that uses meth. Overall, its probably safe to say that a larger FMIC would improve overall efficiency under moderate load when not spraying meth, but as with lots of things on public boards... I've heard lots of ideas about whether or not a FMIC is an improvement over stock when running meth. Especially if you spray as much of it as I do lol
Data always helps. If I had a vbox I'd do it just for curiosity's sake since plenty of high boost cars are running these once-looked-down-upon "cheap" FMICs. |

I'm so swamped with work I haven't had a break to put on the FMIC or DP, as it is I may find a shop to do the DP install. Rest assured though that I've got enough runs on my completely level 1/2 mile test area to compare when the FMIC does go on, I will be very interested to see how it compares with a meth run.

Those are impressive trap times for a car with 100 octane/E85 mixed. Do you have your logs from the run? I would love to compare them to my n55. congrats on the time. Some lower humidity and temps you'll be in the 11s no problem!

So I ran last night at Englishtown Raceway...
Temps around 72 degrees on the first run, 70 on the second run. DA around 2000 i believe. BA of 30 I have an N55 car to start off with, 2011 335i xDrive. Mods, see sig, FBO + E40. Weight: 3950 with me in it. haven't seen many N55 Xdrive's timeslips on here. I might be the first! The first run was a mess, i didnt shift it and it redlined all gears :-/ t iming was off, will post up my maps later Second run i launched in 1st gear again, cut 1.73 60' although i know i can do better, i hear that i should lauch from 2nd to avoid the 1-2 shift which wastes time. I shifted around 5500, car felt much better. 12.6 @ 108 was my best time last night, I will post up my logs, as my timing was not >10 for the majority of my run, i was expecting to see timing at 12-13 degrees, not hanging around 7-8 degrees . Boost was good, peaked at 19 psi and tapered off to 15 around shifting point. I can make up more timing next time with a 100% e85 run, and perfect the launch. Any other suggestions? Brett

FYI i tried launching in 2nd gear with my N55 Xdrive and the transmission bogged/stalled. like a 1 second lag before it slowly moved forward
Same result the second time Third time i brake boosted higher (3300rpm) and the check engine light came on before the car moved much. So just a lesson to be learned, don't launch an N55 Xdrive in 2nd gear. I'll have to stick with 1st, should i let 1st redline? Shift at 6000? i typically shift around 5500 or so due to the crappy powerband of my powerplant
