Sport Steering Wheel Wrap DIY

I bought sport steering with air bag for cheap.
I was going to get Flat Bottom ones but decided to give it a shot with wheel wrap.

I think this is the DIY I am proud of myself ever.

It looks like just from the factory except some finishing behind.

Anyways, it is very simple to wrap. You won't be making Stitches.

Stitches already there and all you have to do is go around those stitches with your needle to pull the wrap together.
You don't need to use Red and Blue strings to create that Red/Blue stitches.
Red one is already there and all I had to was hooking Blue strings around Red ones.

I thought you have to be pretty skilled but all you need is patience.
I say you can finish in 2 hours.

Check some youtube videos and you should be able to figure out quick.

Best DIY for your car since you will be touching that thing whole time driving your car!!!

Product I bought.

Can we see this mounted in your car?

The gloss airbag is throwing me off.

Otherwise doesn't look bad.

It's suede and perforated leather.

I painted the air bag because it had a deep scratch. I had to fill and sand it.

masterh, I did the same wrap to the same wheel on my E91. Plus I added CF trim piece. Love my steering wheel! Prob one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do. Like you said, the steering wheel is something you touch and look at every time you drive.

I get tons of compliments and questions on it. I will say the actual DIY was a PIA but worth it in the end.

Nice job brother 👍

This is the steering wheel I wanted. still thinking about it though
Not sure how non round design will affect the steering in low speed.

The thickness is definitely more than enough. It will give you the same feeling as those thick alcantara steering wheel option in high end cars.
