E92 LCI lights question...
I've been given the opportunity to pick up some rear lci lights for next to nothing...question is are they a straight fit for my 58 plate??
Thanks in advance

No, the indicators on LCI are LEDs and consequently you'll get a bulb failure warning, however the LKM can be re-coded.

you need a wiring harness and the car recoded..
imo, they are a great upgrade because the pre-LCI had a massive design flaw re: corroding connections etc.. i'd go for it, or.. if you bail, tell me where to pick them up! |

LKM is the Light Control Module. You can get a adapter for the exisiting wiring loom that contains resistors to fool the bulb-check pulse so you don't get the message or you can get it coded. I don't know if the physical connectors are the same - they were on the e46 but BGM suggests you need a new harness and that may well be the case, unless he simply means the harness adaptor to remove the bulb-fail warning(?)

see this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=lci+lights
some good info in there as far as i am aware you need a harness AND coding to be full 100% i do not know of a harness that removes the warning lights, but could well be wrong! |

Unless you are good at auto electrics or know someone who knows what they are doing, you'll need a harness to connect the LCI light wiring to the existing.
I've not come across a UK seller as yet but I got my harness from Tom @: http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=3373 The actual fitting is very easy and is a straight swop. You'll need to get the car coded after the fitting as you will get a bulb out warning on the dash although the lights will work. Any good indy who has Autologic can do the coding and all they do is disable the bulb check on the rear lights which will stop bulb out warning appearing, expect to pay around £50.00 for the coding, and if you have electric folding mirrors you can get those coded at the same time to fold from the fob. My install post is here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/newrep...e=1&p=10075559
