Injector misfire and DME replacement

Hey everyone, my 2007 335i was recently misfiring and I took it to the dealer. I'm going to have new fuel injectors/plugs installed and coded. Mine were not covered under warranty. Lucky me.

The dealer is telling me that I also need DME replacement and programming as well (additional $2025.00).

Do I have to have this replaced immediately? and if I don't is this something that I can do myself?

thanks for the advice.

What did you end up doing? The DME should not have needed replacement unless they verified some way that it wasn't working properly.
