for e92 coupe trade-in

After seeing the e92 coupe at dealers over these couple of days, i'm in love with the 335i. The dual exhaust and styling of the coupe is so beautiful.

I don't know why i see the coupe as way better-looking the the sedan, maybe its because i've always loved the looks of coupes.

Anyway, i want to trade in my 330i sedan for a 335i coupe. With the sedan being just 15 months old though, I don't know if its worth trading in for a 3 series for a 3 series. I do know that the 335i is already an upgrade over the 330i sedan.

After calculating the numbers, my 330i sedan is now worth about $40,000 CDN. When i got the sedan new it was $55000 before taxes, so a $15k loss over 15 months.

Therefore, with the options i want with the 335i coupe that will be about $61,000 CDN, it'll cost me $21000 plus taxes trading in... Is this worth it though? A 3 series for a 3 series? I hear some people are even trading their 330i sedans for the upcoming the 335i sedan, correct?

Another option on my list is the upcoming audi tt. So guys, for me its either an 07 335 coupe or an 08 tt; which is the better choice???

Depends how much you want it. You WILL take a bath on the deal, though. Financially it's not a good move. But then financially, buying a new car is not a good move.

Your money, your choice. If you have the resources and really want the coupe, go for it. Life is too short.

It's never really a smart move to trade anything in after such a short period of time. However, if you really want it then by all means go for it. It all depends on how you define "worth".

you'll be spending a ton of extra money and every second you're in the car without the gas pedal mashed to the floor (98% of the time) it's just the same as the car you already have

I'd keep what you've got, or swap for the TT

I have a 2002 TT.

The car has been great to me...

But the 335i will blow it away, and the 330i is about on par.

If I were you I would hold on to 330i for a year or two.

trading in your 330i so soon isn't financially the best decision. but if money wasn't a big deal i would trade it in

the 335 should last you a long time. def better than the TT

sounds like you like the 335 very much, so just go for it
i know if it was me, i would do what mrsilver suggested.
keep the 330i for a year or two then switch over.
in the next few years lots of new gen. cars are coming out, so waiting won't hurt you

does the dealer negotiate the price of the trade in when you take delivery, or when you are talking price for the car?

so let say they give a discount on the car, but when the car is ready in a few months, they give a low price on the trade in.

is that how it works?
