No up pipe on N54. As a matter of fact I can't think of an turbo engine that has one...

EJ20, 25 subaru.

Also, didn't the old DSMs (gen II) have one?

And technical correction, the uppipe was from manifold to turbo, not turbo to DP.

still doesn't ring a bell. I don't recall an any sort of pipe between the manifold and the turbo on the 4G63 motors.

Yeah, I think you're right about the 4G63. EJs def had uppipes. Some called it a "precat" as it was before the blower.

It's a stupid design. Concentrating all that heat right by the block, and slowing the exhaust flow at taht point is stupid. It was my first mod on my WRX, and probably the best.

Subarus have up pipes from the exhaust manifold UP to the turbo (exhaust manifold is below the engine on subaru boxers).

On WRXs, there is a catalytic converter in the uppipe that is generally removed for performance. STIs have catless uppipes stock.

On the N54 the manifold is welded to the turbo so nothing to change here...

Get catless downpipes for a N54

It's a fun install on the WRX...

Ahh, I remember those days...

Sarcasm noted. Lift the block or shred your knuckles? I love these options!

Surprisingly worth it though
