BEP Billet Compressor Wheel Install & Results
So it all started with an email to turbokits.com and went from there. I inquired about the Bulls Eye Power(BatMoWheel) Compressor wheel, Since I was the guinea pig for this Jesse from TK proposed an offer I could not refuse. So we went back and forth with a bunch of emails and got everything settled and I went down to Turbokits.com in connecticut for my "Before" dyne session. The facility there is amazing, there are a ton of cars and projects there and they really know what there doing. Jesse was very accommodating and showed me the shop then we latched down the 335 and got ready for some pulls. My car has a jb3 on map 3 and a dci installed, and out of the 6 pulls the car made on average 320whp and 325wtq on a mustang dyno.
Car jacked up and ready. Then I removed the plastic under trays and the V brace. Then the oil was drained as well as the coolant. For manual cars you can drain it from the water pump which looks like a little turbo near the front intercooler. On AT cars you can remove the hose from the heat exchanger above the sway bar. If I need to explain how to drain the oil then I would suggest you don't try this. Next I had to drop the subframe so first I unbolted the passenger side engine mount. First unbolt the 2 ETorx bolts that connects the engine mount to the subframe and then the 4 Etorx bolts that connects the engine mount to the engine. Be sure to support the engine with a jack. While I was there I unbolted the steering rack so it could be moved around. Now that was dropped it gave me a little better access to the downpipes. So the o2 sensors were removed and I removed the 4 bolts connecting the downpipes to the mid pipes and then the v-band clamps. Smallest turbos I've ever seen And the Rebuild Begins. The exhaust housing/manifold is connected to the center section with a v-band clamp. The compressor housing is held together with a very stubborn snap ring. Stock Wheel BEP Billet Compressor Wheel Manifold/exhaust housing Ceramic coated Everything will be going back together tomorrow, And car will be re-dynoed on Saturday Last edited by M3Tuner44; 05-15-2012 at 10:40 PM.. |

Well I wanted to see the results and I don't have the budget for bigger turbos. This is the kind of job that once you've done it one time, you can definitely do it quicker the next time around.

The exhaust turbine is your bottleneck. Check your PMs.

They are already prebalanced, direct swap and replace. I have experience with this setup.
I will repeat, the stock turbine is your bottleneck. If it's possible to clip the stock turbine wheel, then you MIGHT gain a little power out of these things. Then you have to account for the wastegates. I don't mean to rain on your parade OP, but prepare to be disappointed. You will LOSE power. I showed you my results.

Anyone want the turbos the OP has? $260 shipped Preassembled center sections. Will make for a great rebuild option for those who don't want to spend $1000+ on new stock turbos.

That being said, just go with RB's, ASR, or a single turbo. When I needed new turbos quickly a few years ago none of the other options were available. |

We been there done that. If they were the same as stock I probably wouldn't have bothered swapping to RBs tho.

Ceramic coating + exhaust turbine
I do aggre to others: The exhaust turbine is your bottleneck. Also you can play with clipped wheels, which is good for playing pressure.
Because of the restriction of the factory turbos (and hybrid turbos based on factory turbine house and manifold) I have decided to rebuilt my engine and built a completly new designed twins with custom made manifolds (we do not use factory turbos and factory manifolds) for my e92 335i. Project status: 45%. I will post some pics, once we ready. I encourage everybody to use high quality ceramic coating on different parts of the engine, on manifolds, on different parts of the turbos, even on downpipes and on exhaust pipes. M3Tuner44, i dont see wheather you have applied ceramic coating only external on manifolds and turbine house or also internal. Is much better and more efficency to apply ceramic coating external and internal to built "closed" heat shields. Laszlo |

These OEM turbos have double wall air gapped manifolds. Coatings are a waste of time for these special manifolds IMHO. But it looks cool, for a little bit anyway. Due to tight clearances and chances of flaking coatings I also wouldn't suggest doing internals even if you insist on following through with coatings.

Thanks for confirming that. I thought the same thing the first time I held one in my hand. I thought that was pretty trick.
