Hi guys,
Just ordered the BMW Performance Short-throw Shift Kit (my first mod ever ). The parts cost $300 (ordered the kit without the knob and the boot because I already have the M Sport one) - the whole thing would cost about $550 here). The installation cost is about $140 at the dealer. The part number for the SSK is 25110430360. EDIT: Installed ! Pics, movies and driving impressions below ! Driving impressions: Its everything I wanted ! The gearchanges are very quick and short, and it feels "natural". The effort for gearshift is LOWER OR EQUAL to the stock shifter. It seats a tiny bit taller than the old one (great, now I can better rest my hand on it while my elbow sits on the armrest), and the neutral is a bit more to the right. I can reduce (or almost eliminate) the small turbo lag I had between gearchanges, and I can easily chirp the tires in second gear (I'm stock). I must admit that the BMW Performance Alcantara boot and knob goes perfectly with those seats, but I tought they are not worth $250 more...so I installed the kit without them. I may get them some day though...but purely for aestethical reasons.
