Modifying front strut stopper

Has anyone tried to modify their front struts ( cut the strut tab that stops it from sitting lower in the lower assembly ) to gain additional lowering? Looks as if you could gain 1/4"-1/2" if cut to the tack weld. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You an get a strut without a stop for additional lowering without affecting the amount of bump and droop travel. The only issue with that is, your tire will likely contact the topside of teh innner fender.

Thanks for the input. Looking to pick up a H&R touring cup kit and just wanted to see if it was an option...figured there might be a slight chance the wheel could contact the inner fender. Not looking to delete the stopper entirely, just cut it for a extra 1/4-1/2" drop.
