Courtesy car insurance?
Hello folks. I have a loan car from BMW. The policy states an excess of 250 in the event of any damage or accident. There is no mention of theft. It is a 15 plate 1M. I am concerned as I found a lighter by the driver door on our drive. There are finger prints on both B pillars and the boot. I miss my car because I have a proximity sensor on it and I would have known straight away but mine is in for repair.
My questions are: does the policy cover theft?? Was the security fixed on the 2015 models are are these still being stolen to order? |

Apologies typo hate typing on iPad. It is a 118d M otherwise would have said M1. Yes they do give 1Ms. I had a 63 plate as it was the only auto they had a few months back.
I'm blocking it in tonight and it's on the neighbours drive. He has camera and shit. They are supposed to give you like for like wherever possible according to the dealership I went to. When I went in to the dealership the gent told me that if I went in with a M4 they would try to get as close to that as possible. How true that is in terms of a policy who knows. |

I think you're getting your models all confused.
The M1 and a 1M are completely different things. You also didn't get any of the two of them on 63 plates. I think you must me mixing it up with a M135i. |

No bud m135 is what I had but I'm not here to prove it or discuss it. That is beside the point of this thread. I know the connect drive security has been patched. I don't know about the rest. Or the excess. I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow to find out. It's blocked in for tonight.

I'd be amazed if the dealer didn't cover their cars for theft.
If the policy is comprehensive and you have an excess to pay for a claim, I'd assume theft was covered too. |
