I don't think you need the alarm for that option.
That is a function of the keyfob by itself...
Now, this feature might be a Euro thing that US cars don't get because of
safety concerns.

i could be wrong, but i dont think the e90 key fobs can't roll up the windows like the e46's did. seems like they did away with that feature. you can still roll the windows down, but not up. the only way to roll them up is to remove the key from the key fob, insert the key in the keyhole, turn and hold it in the lock position for a few seconds. with CA u have to keep your hand over the door handle sensor a few seconds longer to roll the windows up.

You are correct
Non-NA (Euro) cars can open and close all the windows (including the sunroof) using the fob.

Yes, per the manual and 1st-hand experience, you can both open and close windows/moonroof with the key fob in US E90s. Hold the lock button (or CA on door handle) long enough and they all close sequentially. Hold the unlock on the key fob, and they open. CA can't open them.

You can open them, but I don't think you can close them with the fob unless yours is different. You can close them with CA, though. (US-spec cars)

U.S. models don't have the option to roll the windows up with the key fob. The lawyers have made it so easy to sue anyone that the feature was left off of American models to prevent someone from getting hurt and starting a lawsuit. It was alot easier than asking people to be responsible for their own actions...
