HD radio

I am hearing radio stations say they are broadcasting in HD (high definition) radio.

Do the e9x radios do HD? My e36 has the stock radio.

What is HD radio?

I have not seen that option either. Satellite, or Satellite prep or Logic 7 are the only radio options i've seen.

i thought that you need to purchased somthing to be installed to your radio to get High Defenition Radio. thats what i thought am i right?

I hear adds for aftermarket radios with this capability. If there is something we can do to our radios on the BMW I'd like to know.

No, nothing can be added. It is not going to be on the 2007 E9x models either. Perhaps mid model year or 2008 (just a guess)

The sfter sept. build e92's and I think 07 e90 will have an hd radio option. The catch is you can only have sat radio or hd radio not both.

Also soon you will be able to add a reversing camera to your nav screen through your bmw dealership

i concur. only 5-series and up have it as an option.

I don't mean to be dense, since I've been a member all of a day, but I wasn't able to get HD Radio on my 335i, but it seems to be popping up on all the upcoming M3 option lists. Does this mean that it might be available later as a dealer installed option like Sirius? I'd much rather pop the $$ for HD Radio than Sirius. Free+better sound vs. Costly+compression. Easy choice.
