MP3 from CDs capability

Called to make a service appointment (emissions recall, alarm install and oil change) at Valley BMW in Modesto and asked about the update to allow MP3 playability on CDs. I was told there was no such ability or update that would allow this. I'm sure I saw that there is such an update.

Could someone direct me to a document or announcement so I could show them that it's possible. Thanks!

Take a look at that thread, second post from the bottom. The bulletin number is listed there along with it's contents, but if you're looking for a scan of the original I doubt it's here. A print out of that post should be enough though.

Also, ask the dealer why it is that you know more about this than they do. Then, give them a dirty look.

Thanks for the info everyone. The service guy I spoke to was so insistent that I was wrong about this capability, it will be nice to show him the bulletin.

Geez, shouldn't someone in his position be aware of such thngs?
