The November 20th is fine by me, you can all gather around and take in the smell of my new winter tires... and marvel at what a daredevil I am to be driving around with no runflats OR spare.
Oh, and being outdoors in the middle of the hippodrome on November 20th... best bring your earmuffs everybody. |

Seriously, that might be a good idea at a minimum in case I'm really screwed. Otherwise I have a roadside assistance plan through CAA and my insurance company. |

Mobility kits are not expensive at Canadian Tire - I am going to look into it even with runflat winters. Get one with a latex compound which does not harm the mags and is easier to wash out. At minus gazillion degrees it may be better to be able to inflate and roll away than wait for help. You can store it in the under-cargo space in the trunk-out of site and no sliding).
I figure if I get the kit, I may avoid damaging my runflat sidewall and thus be able to fix the sucker rather than fork over for new tires. But I have not made up my mind yet. |

I might be able to make it for the 20th. However, week-ends for me are a bit more difficult to get out of the house, but I will try. It also depends on the time we are planning to do this ???
tilou: I have used the Toyo winter tires for many years already and they're great. They are designed in Quebec (Blainville actually) and Toyo knows how our winters get. Lazer auto have them for really cheap. Toyo does not make runflats yet. I have asked them and nothing is planned for this year. Personally, I just tested my old rims (from my former E46) and they seem to fit (pending confirmation on the x-factor) which means that I'll be running with the Toyo's no RFT for this winter at least. My rims are the CSA Gladiator (gotten from Lazer Auto). Real easy to clean (the brake dust does not adhere to much to it) and sturdy enough for our wonderful "nids-de-poule" !!! Since they fit (see above), they surely will fit 325's as well for those driving that model. Otherwise, Lazer can get Fast wheels which make a replica of a BMW wheel that I can't remember the number (see Fast web site, the model is the "Strasse") and it does fit according to Fast. I am talking 17" here. Nuf said ! Going back practicing instead of sleeping ... :rocks:

I don't know yet, I'll know for sure much closer to that date.
Why is it I still have Stew's image of the Lemon leather in front of the big Orange Julep printed in my mind? |

My Plan for a Fantastic E90 Montreal Meet
Okay, here's the deal.
We meet at the Eggspectations restaurant at exit 17 on the 40 (towards Ottawa) at 8:30am for toast and coffee. No seconds, we don't have all day! At 9:15 we head out to rue St. Georges, over Rigaud Mountain. This is a fine twisty road, not to be taken too fast, but enough to enjoy the features of our fine automobiles. Then we head over to rue St-Henri, going by Auberge des Gallants and some fancy looking horse places. Incidentally, this is a fine place for a convoy photo shoot that we could post to make those California people wish they lived here. This would take at the most another hour, so that by the time we're done you're home by 11:00-11:30. If you have a bit more time I can take you down past my place to the St Polycarpe River Road, which winds past a bunch of farms but the key word here is "winds". It also dips a fair bit, so it's also a great road to feel your E90 hugging the corners. This plan makes it a bit easier for our Ottawa friends as well, because exit 17 is only 10kms from the Ontario border. For Montrealers it's about 25-40 minutes, "depending on your speed".

I tell people that if they are out in that area, they are either lost, or they know exactly where they're going!
