Hard to diagnose misfire

Hey Boys,

I have a 2007 328i, having some difficulty diagnosing a p0304, cylinder 4 misfire. So far I’ve changed the plug, ignition coil, and fuel injector but the code, ses light, and misfire remain. It happens on startup and when warm. Car seems to drive fine above 2,000 rpm. Still getting a standard 20mpg.

Wondering if anyone has had this issue and what next steps they have taken?

My next move is to buy a bmw specific scanner? ? ? Either that or roll into the shop.

Also try cleaning both vanos solenoids first and maybe swapping them round. Then do a vacuum leak test.

Might be VCG? Has there been any recent work done on this part?

Been stopping by the local autozone and using their cheap scanner when coming home from work the last few days. Haven't cleared the codes but I can still feel the misfire after each repair. Will be trying the vanos solenoids today. VCG looks good but appears to have a minor leak around the valvetronic motor.
