Was this work covered by the dealership or you still had to pay?
This just happened to me today in Calgary AB
Parked at work with wheels straight, came back 8h later and I couldn't get the steering wheel to unlock or the car to start. Tried for 1h wiggling the wheel, disconnecting the negative on the battery, locking unlocking the doors manually etc. Nothing worked. Car was towed to a non BMW garage.
