Shell oil good price

Hi All,

Just seen this and it seems to be a really good price, not far off half the Opie price.

LL-04 so right spec and a good brand.

Loads of people selling 20 litres of ELF 5w30 LL04 for under £50 delivered on eBay.

They use that a lot in dealers.

It is a really low ash oil, so good if you have a diesel with a DPF.

'Low ash' piqued my interest there... The only stuff I can find around £50/20L is C3, so technically a mid-SAPS oil (within the generally "low ash" C range...). It's the right stuff for an M57 etc with DPF, but there are lower ash oils available which also fit the bill (C4 rated oils).

Well yeah, but many argue that C4 is not the best for protection, certainly not long term anyway.

Maybe I didn't word that correctly on my first post, I meant, it was good for those that drive diesels with a DPF too.

True. If you could find an LL04 certified C4, you'd be laughing. C3 is the right stuff though, again so long as it's LL04.
