Does anyone know why there is a switch on my bimmergeeks K+dcan cable and what does it do?

I bet that's why I got the codes on my other post. It wasn't on the far right side!

I did and as soon as I tuned it it was running horribly. I then got a hpfp code so I figured my hpfp was bad so I bought a $600 hpfp and it comes tomorrow. I'm half way with getting my factory one out of my car right now
