My college had slightly different math for the different engineering majors, ME and EE were together in Calc 1-3 and differential equations, whereas Environmental, civil, construction, biomedical took an easier combined calc 2-3 class then an easier differential equations class. They had 3 semesters of math, whereas the ME and EE had 4.

I actually struggled in calc 1 since I have never taken calc before, and the professor taught it like everyone had done calc before. I improved all the way up to an A by calc 3 though. Office hours are definitely your friend-to whoever posted about switching.

As for me, large firm attorney. Don't envy the e discovery specialist a few posts up at all. Tough job with tough to please clients.
Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of the fact that aptitude in a classroom (or lack thereof) are poor indicators of future real world success. If Benny can struggle through those classes and pass then more power to him - but it sounds like he is trying to avoid those classes altogether - if that's the case then, in my experience, he's going to have to pursue something besides an engineering degree.

Well thanks for the concern from both parties! I see that I wasn't completely clear in my original post, it's not that I have troubles with the content, in fact it's the opposite. I already completed calc 1, and the work just bores me to tears. It doesn't feel like something I want to continue for 2 more years luckily I'm a freshman so I can still change my path with no repercussions

I felt the same way. I would actually fall asleep in class at times. Not intentionally, and I always felt bad about it, but the intro classes were all the worst. My professors didn't care because they knew I worked hard and was at the top of my class. It does get better. After the middle of sophomore year you have more choice and can actually start learning some interesting stuff. However, you need to suffer through the basics to be able to understand it all.

35, IT Director for a manufacturing DoD supplier. Specializing in transparent armor and upfitting for MRAP, and HMMWVs. Also doing CARC, powder coating, and anodizing for military parts.

They also have a law enforcement division that deals with armoring and vinyl lettering. A street sign division, and a clothing division. It's never a dull day.

Came to BMW (2007 335xi) after the untimely demise of my Saab 92x on the way into work a couple months ago

BSME and MSME. Heat transfer engineer. Worked through college but had low cost cars until my mid 40's. Immensely enjoy the 335D with several performance mods. I'm a gearhead and would have been one without the degrees.

I run hiddenrides.com on the side.

Kind of like a watchrecon for car forums.

I'm 20, and work in customer service/sales for a wheel and tire distributor. Currently going to school with a computer science major.

Just picked up my 335i earlier this month, and everything is all in my name. Working hard for what you want is extremely rewarding. I do get the "did mommy and daddy get you a new car" every once and while though. It's funny seeing their reactions when I tell them I paid for it myself.

I work as a buyer for a construction company. Everyone thinks I drive a brand new bmw and asks me how I can afford it. Meanwhile, they are driving around in $50,000+ f150/250s...

How did you get your foot in the door? that seems like a pretty difficult job to acquire. If you don't feel comfortable I totally understand if this is to personal

Go into the trades if it doesn't work. You'll make more money as a plumber or electrician than you will with most college degrees anyway.
