My god they need to fix the no sound issue on youtube videos, for the iphone app. That way I don't have to copy the link into safari just to hear sound
Anyways rant over... Super cool project man. I'd love to see more videos of it in action

Very late to the party. OP, in your first pictures at top of the thread, you showed picture of back of the engine and then next one was of it in the engine bay. I was interested in how manual transmission went on. Do you have a picture of trans monuted to back prior to engine/trans install?
I presume you had to adapt the LR transmission on since you're using a transfer case for front axle to be driven. thanks. P.S. if no picture, I understand but still just wondering about which transmission was used. Thanks again and looking good! |

We used an adaptor kit BMW M57 to R380 also from synchro gears, but this kit was rubbish. We had to do some milling at the bellhousing, some laith work on the flywheel, the starter didn't fit.... The adapterkit didn't fit at all. Thanks to some technical friends, all came together, but it was a pain! |

I want to love Shabs for the things he tries to do, but I just wish there was someone to get him to finish things right. Whether it's the thermostat housing, or the water neck, or the tensioner pulley, or ... everything needs some sort of fettling to get it to fit / work right.

Video of some more testing. This time at the rally test tracks of chateau Lastours, the south of France. Car performed amazing. Engine had lots of power due to an ECU rewrite. No problems with the car at all, just some shocktuning. Great opportunity for driver and navigator to train and get some miles on the car, and for the serviceteam to get familiar with it. We had a blast!!

Got back from the Tunisian desert challenge. We had a blast! Car performed amazing. Exept from 1 small issue with a sensor, the BMW engine was great. Lots of power, lots of torque. Thanks to an amazing servicecrew, the problem was solved in minutes, and every day we could start with a car in great shape. We finished 16th overall, and the last day we finished the stage 10th. Not bad for a new car and a new team.
