How do I work out how particular wheels will look once on the car
Hi,
Sorry for asking what is probably considered such a newbie question, but I have never really fully understood wheel/ tyre set-ups so am looking for some advice. I have seen a set of CSL style alloy wheels which seem a very good deal. The details for the alloys are as below: Front - 19 x 8.5 ET40 Rear - 19 x 9.5 ET27 - Deep Concave PCD - 5x120 CB - 72.6 Will these fit? I am looking for a stanced kind of look to the car. (Slight stretch to the tyres, and tucked as close to the arch as possible). Are the wheels sufficiently wide to achieve this look? Do you recommend I go for something wider rather than buying these with the possibility of having to add spacers if they are not wide enough? I'm currently at OEM ride hide but I intend to drop on coilovers in the very near future to achieve the look I am going for and will have no issues with rocking some minor camber if I need to make it fit. It would be helpful if anyone has pictures of a similar sized wheel on their e90. Thanks |

These will fit, rear fitment should be pretty good for your LCI E90. Aggresive fitment but nothing over-the-top crazy. For a rub-free fitment in rear, you will need stiffer suspension (i.e. coilovers) and to roll your fenders. I think the natural camber of being lowered will be enough to fit the wheels in.
Front will need a spacer to match the 'flushness' of the rear. I recommend going with a 15mm but If you want to go more aggressive then you could go as far as 18mm or 20mm depending on tires. Sticking with stock tire size should fit fine, 225/35 in front and 255/30 in rear. These will be slightly stretched. Overall, if you're okay with camber and stretched tires then you might want more aggressive wheels than these. Most 'stance' fitments involve a 9" or 9.5" width in front and 10" or even 10.5"/11" in rear. At these widths, you are maximizing both inner and outer clearance so there is a much smaller range for offsetst to choose from. Due to inner clearance, 9.5" in front only works with a low offset (~et20-25), so for these to fit on the outside you need stretched tires and >2 degrees of negative camber. You would need a camber kit to go this far in front, but rears have camber adjustability up to approximately -3 degrees when lowered.

Thanks b92..
Just the type of information I was after. Does anyone have this kind of rim and tyre set up on the forums? Or even something very similar, as pictures will really help me visualise how it would look. For now I better get back to the stanced pics thread (which I only just found) to see what kind of setups are being run by others on our cars. |

[QUOTE=9krpmrx8;23915450]I am 19x8.5+30 up front and 19x9.5+30 in the rear. Bilstein coilovers and Dinan Camber plates.
Very Clean! Did you have to do any fender work at your current height? Would the coilovers go much lower without rubbing? |

Yes my rear fenders were rolled due to rubbing when I was lower. But it only rubbed with passengers and rarely. Since then I have raised it to the height you see and I have zero rubbing even with a full load of passengers.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any idea about fitament of these alloys I've come across. 19x9 et35 19x10 et38 I am currently lowered on eibach sportlines. Should I expect any clearance issues? Doe's anyone know whose car on the forum may have this kind of setup? |

Thanks for your response n50four.
Had these Avants delivered today. Looking to go put some tires on tomorrow. Has anyone used any different tire specs and car to share any pics? I was hoping to really get a mild stretch on the tyre and have the spaced as aggressively as possible. Anyone have any further advise? |

Also, to run flat or to not run flat.
For those of you not using run flats; what do you do if you get a flat? I hear there is some kind of canister you can get? Not sure where I read about it or what to search to find it again. |

Hmmmm . . . I didn't know the AGs were available with an et31. Anyhow, you'll be fine. As I had mentioned, my front AG set-up was with an et35 WITH a 7mm spacer which will translate to et28 . . . flush look, no rubbing with a 235/30, as shown in the photo I had posted. With an et31, you can run a 3mm spacer. If you're a member of the poking crew (where the wheel sticks out beyond the fender-line, not my style) you can experiment with 5mm and 7mm spacers, depending on your tire size choice.
