It needs drilling but it’s relatively easy.

Try www.bimmian.com. They sell aluminum pedals and have some handy installation guides (video as well).

I installed mine last night!!! Will post pics soon. Although there is drilling involve, only the brake pedal is a pain to install because it is made of steel, the others are made of plastic (at least on the e92). As long as you use a cobalt drill bit it shouldn't take you that long to install.

So called my dealer to ask about putting this mod on alum pedals:
http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...4&productId=48

Only $85 but he said they would charge me $269 to install (and pedals)
What a rip off!

I am waiting on my car to get delivered but geez what a crock!

Yes you are correct. The foot rest uses a self tapping screw.

by the way under "REST FOOT" there is nothing important becaue when drilling we need to be safe not to drill something

get the oem ones

the gas pedal is plastic, so u don't have to drill into it. just tap your screws into it

the brake pedal is metal and you have to drill into it...not too tough. just get a drill and the correct sized drill bit (buy a drill bit set and you can see what size hole u need to make as you look at how big the screw is)

the clutch is metal as well and requires drilling...same goes as the brake pedal.

the foot rest is plastic and requires self tapping screws. the screws bmw gave me for the dead pedal were too small. i went to home depot and got some longer screws. just drilled 4 of the 6 in, since I couldn't get to the top 2 w/my drill

to address the questions. there is nothing important on any of the pedals under them to avoid drilling. people just say be careful what screws you use since they can impede full throttle on the gas pedal

You still have to get screws through the plastic, but it won't be as hard to install as the break pedal.

BTW, I posted my install here:

Just remember to take off the stock rubber pads on the clutch and brake pedals.
