Can the 330 use the same mounts as the 335i? If so, find the ones from the 335is!

Probably anytime you are over 150,000 miles, you should change both the motor mounts and trans mounts.

You don't need an engine lift bar (2 or 3 point), but it might help. There is a diy on Pelican parts for this. There are also a few DIY's on the net and this forum. It would be a lot easier to do this "while your in there" for an oil pan gasket or a rear main seal, because the subframe has to come out. Consider that, before you do this. I have not done this procedure, but I have read it's sort of OR CAN BE PITA.

I did my oil pan gasket at 300,000 miles. You have to unbolt the engine mounts from the subframe to drop the frame. The engine mounts in my car were perfectly fine. My car gets tossed around on back country roads on a daily basis at high rates of speed. Unless the engine is physically moving and hitting other parts in the car, the mounts are good. IMO people place too much importance in replacing bushings, engine and transmission mounts. I'd suggest driveline vibrations are more related to the dual-mass flywheel and driveshaft than anything else.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Large movements of the shift knob when loading and unloading the drivetrain is evidence of a possible bad engine or transmission mount. Vibration can be any number of things, bad flywheel, driveshaft or components there of.

Thanks for information. I guess I need to show my vehicle for some pro cause I'm not the expert. Wish to fix things like this by myself...
