Did anyone tried installing a M3 Exhaust system on 328xi? Any recommendations on who can do this modification?

Just buy the tips, sharpen the part that will face forward and use a dead blow hammer to punch them through the bumper on the right side.

Now seriously, Is there a quad exhaust for E92 328 which looks like M3 exhaust; I know there are some after market systems but they wouldn't look like M3 setup;

you would have a hard time fitting the massive m3 muffler under your car
If you really want the quads close to the center, I recommend just going to a muffler shop and have them make you a custom setup

Hey, I'm sorry the internets are so big and scary, but they're not all about hugs and warm milk. He already answered his own question, which is to go aftermarket.

Since the M3 rear cans are separate and come around each side of the rear differential (as you'd expect for a rwd V8) and the 328i come off only one side of the straight motor, and to the left of the differential, getting the right side M3 exhaust mounted would be a little tricky. He'd be better off with something like the E46 M3 (oddly, also a straight six) that had a cosmetic muffler that spanned the rear valance and had four tips on one silencer.

thanks for the response.. I actually thought about going to local muffler shop for modifications to an after market exhaust to make it look like M3 setup but my only concern is if its going to screwup the sound?

haha it's gonna take a bit of custom work to get the mufflers where you want them. as far as sound goes, you won't really know until you get it done since custom jobs rarely yield the same results unless its somethin simple like a res delete.

What is it about the M3 muffler you want?

If it's just the quad tip look and a nicer exhaust note then many people have done this for not much $ at all - custom work by an exhaust shop usually.

I am putting M3 wheels on my car and wud like to be able to do an M3 rear bumper and a compatible exhaust. not looking for any performance improvement thru exhaust at this point. Would love to have a better sound but thats not the highest priority, just don't want a weird sound after the exhaust modification.

any tips towards this modifications are highly appreciated!!

Do you know of anyone who can do this? and how much was it? I am guessing a new rear bumper, an after market exhaust and labor at the muffler shop .. may be a diffuser;

I am looking at M-tech rear bumper from other posts on this forum... they look great!

Quite a few people have done it, just try searchin through this section alittle. Not necessarily fitting exhaust systems from different cars, but you can definitely make a quad (M3 like) exhaust for your 328. Mine isnt quad but dual side...

im running a dual quad tip exhaust on mine....it looks pretty clean...since your getting the m3 bumper it would be fairly simple for a muffler shop with the right amount of knowledge to make it happen for maz around $400.00...i did mine and it cost $160.00, we cut the bumper, so its not as close as the M3, looks like the 335I setup with Quad tips.

I was gonna do this awhile back to my 328i but realize I'm no gonna get the exact sound that I would want. So I decide just to save for an aftermarket single exit dual tip exhaust. Not to mention with all the work with the labor and m3 rear bumper, because I doubt they have a good fitting rep out there for e92 anyways. So much go into making just the bumper work, that is if you go aftermarket then you gotta think the labor to make it fit well and also paint. And if anything you'd lose power through the deal which would suck even more considering the lack of power our engines have from the factory. But if this is truly want you wanna do to your car I'd say for everything I would say $200-300 for mufflers, tips and labor, about $1000-1500 for rep bumper, labor and paint your looking at $2000 if not more. Just a rough estimate. But this is what stopped me from doing it anyway. Good luck with getting it done.

I seen set ups online that have the same downpipe but split off at the back bumper n make it look quad...but i dont see the point i think it would hinder your exhaust then add to it...look at it this way if ur out in the cold n u see the fumes coming from your tailpipe most would come from the left n nothing from the right...so its pretty silly idea if u want an m3 look roll up on someone with a 35 theyll smoke u even though u look like an m3...so i think its silly...be happy u drive a bmw n not a malibu

In my opinion, if its the look you want, and an improved sound, don't do an m3 muffler

It is a really good muffler in that it can muffle the sound of that v8. It will likely make your I6 sound like a whisper.
Instead, I recommend getting your res & muffler deleter, and put a Dual in, dual out magnaflow muffler, or even two separate small mufflers in place of those a bit further back from where the stock muffler was, giving you room to run post muffler piping to the center with quad tips in a position similar to the m3
It will be some work to get the bends and piping in properly but for less than 500, you will have a custom muffler setup that will have some bark, and look like you want it to
