07 e90 335i after market stereo problem
I purchased pioneer 8200BT unit to replace my factory stereo. Now there are couple of problems that I am running into and no1 here in Victoria(Canada) is able to fix. Any advice will be appreciated
1. The speakers are still stock as I ordered and bought the wrong size of speakers. At volume zero there is slight "engine noise"..noise goes higher if I rev the engine...... 2. Whenever I turn my car off, it resets all the settings I have done to the stereo. It strangely still remembers my blietooth settings, but none of the treble/bass settings. It even remembers which song it was whe I turned off the car. 3. The pioneer unit has video playback option. Somehow I am unable to play the video even when the car is Parked and handbrake is pulled.. I know there is a way to watch vids even when the car is running( illegal I heard, but possible to do so).how do I activate that??

Your problems seem to be related to your aftermarket HU, and the fact that you have not connected it correctly. The experience with aftermarket units is very limited on this forum, and since every HU is different, you may not get much help. The solution to your problem may lie in the purchase of a vehicle-specific harness for your headunit, at least for the proper electrical connections.

1. Sounds like a ground issue.
2. Sounds like your constant wire isn't hooked up to a constant source, it's wired to something that shuts off with the car. The loss you're referring to are settings stored in memory that requires a constant supply of power to retain the settings. So it sounds like you goofed on the wiring. Did you use a harness or did you splice the wires yourself?

I am using vehicle spefic harness, and got it installed at futureshop. Since then I have had it looked at by couple of other professional instal places, all seem to believe there is no way to provide "constant" wire in this model..bunch if bull* is what I say...
I know there has to be a way for constant power to come thru...
