If the previous owner had it done already, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. The replacement has a 10yr/120000 warranty.
Yes my car is part of the recall I went by the dealer to do some inquiring they verified also told me the car had regular oil changes but that's about all they said. Is there a way to find out for sure?

Mine replaced/being replaced. The one that failed was part #13517616170.
The one going in is the same part #.
It lasted 35K miles before failure.
I'm replacing pumps at the same rate as plugs.... So far not on my dime.

Supposedly the newest HPFP revision is more reliable than its predecessors. Other than that, I can't really say much about long term reliability, except that in 4+ years and ~17K total miles, I haven't had a problem other than the HPFP with the N55.
So are the HPFP's failing on the N55's as well? If so then why are the N55's not included? I'm LTB a e90 335 MT and for some reason 2011's are easier to find than 2010's again 6MT versions? Also there are so many ads that say MT but are Auto's

I am experiencing HPFP symptoms (engine warning light past 3,500-4,000 RPMs followed by reduced power, and what sounds like the "long crank" issue at startup) but according to the dealer, my car is out of warranty.

So I'm going to have to replace the HPFP myself ($300 from online retailers) and need to know if I still have to bring the car in for this "software update." I had discussed this with my service agent and he said that "most of the time a software update is not needed." BTW, his quote if they replaced it out of warranty was $1,250.
Can someone explain why this guy is denied for the HPFP and has to do it himself? I know old news but I'm confused as to why some folks are denied when they are within the 10/100?
Also what about N55's?
or 335is models? this doesn't apply to those N54's. Too many unknowns here for me.

I'm in the same boat. I have under 120k and it hasn't been 10 years yet. I checked my car Vin with BMW and I didn't see a recall for a fuel pump at all just for the airbag. Recommendations?

I checked my VIN here http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...eoverride=true

Only thing I see is the airbag recall.

If your car was recalled, it was fixed in 2010-11 sometime.
