No need for frm3 replacement even if you have FRM the first version it can be done via coding. If you are told you need a FRM3 to have LCI tails working just ignore the vendor and buy the tail lights and have someone code it in for you.

Ok thanks guys. Was just wondering since ECS includes it in their kit. I'll likely order from GetBMWParts anyway.

Now I have to figure out how the fuck to code it lol

1. Add +MUH2 to BOTH your CAS and your FRM VO.
2. After that, Set your job to SG_Codieren.
3. Set the job module to FRM.
4. Execute job.

This will reset your FRM to default settings based upon what your VO is. If you have an FRM3, you will have zero errors. If you are getting errors immediately after doing this, you either did something wrong, or you do not have FRM3.

If you have FRM2, replace +MUH2 with +MUEB and do the exact same steps. If you have errors after that you did something wrong.

This thread will cover all steps here

I know this thread is old, but I just wanted to say massive thank you for your post.

I followed this and now have no errors, happy days.

I followed the instructions. But I am still getting "Left two-stage brake Lamp!" error. I added +MUH2 to VO for CAS and NFRM. did FA_WRITE for both. Also did SG_codieren for NFRM. Nothing seems to change. What am I doing wrong? 2010 e92 m3 btw.

It's been a while for me so can't remember exactly, but are you sure your using the correct profile?
Go to the settings and make sure it's got write access.

You may be using a profile that only had read rights so the changes aren't being made.

Just to confirm you have FRM3? Because...

For an FRM2 it's +MUEB added to the VO
For an FRM3 it's +MUH2 added to the VO

My manufacture date is 09/09. So I assumed I have FRM3?
I went ahead and tried the other code +MUEB. Still nothing happens.
I was able to code other things like the legal disclaimer, and sidemarker delete. So I don't think is cuz of the profile.
Is it because the light is DEPO brand instead of OEM? I got it from uniquestyleracings. The lights works fine though. It doesn't do flickering or anything abnormal. Is just the error on the screen, "Left two-stage brake Lamp!".

Looks like my problem was with the light itself. It is one from DEPO instead of OEM. I returned the DEPO light and bought OEM. Error is gone. Whoever thinking about buying the DEPO tail light, don't bother.

Yes your car is trying to check the old bulbs for being dead. It does this on start up and once and a while during driving the car. You need to code the car so that it does not do these checks anymore. This isn't hard if you know how to code. You can find the codes you need to change on this forum.

The method your car uses to check bulbs does not work for LEDs. That is why you are seeing the error.

Hello everyone,
After owning few BMW's I am now a happy owner of a 330d 2006 E92 , and of course
I am planning to install those so desirable OEM LCI tail lights , and hopefully this time keep the car for more than an year
The problems I have ATM is what do I do to do the coding?
What device do I need?
What exactly do I do ?
If someone is willing to put it down as step by step as if they are explaining it to a person who has no Idea what is supposed to be done.. I will be hugely appreciated.
If you are from UK Ill buy you pizza. *if It works at the end

THANK YOU

Thanks. Need to dig out my old laptop and see if NCS was one of the programs I had for my E53.

I understand that the inner lights cannot be replaced for a E90/93. You need a LCI trunk.
Is this also the case for the E91 touring? Or is it plug and play for both outer and inner lights?

Edit: Comparing pictures; It is not compatible. Shape is different.

need help with coding

I'm trying to do coding for my lci retrofit on my 2008MY 335i cab. I have purchased the cable from bimmergeeks and downloaded the software from their site, after installing their software according to the provided instructions and I do not have INPA folder. is that a separate software I need to download??

There isn't a INPA folder per se, it's inside the EC-APPS folder. If you moved the shortcuts folder to your desktop like instructed the program shortcut will be inside there.

Hi all, I did my lci conversion a few months ago and coded out all the bulb checks so the lights blink at the correct speed and I don’t get any error codes on the dash. However I’ve noticed in the day when the lights are off but in the auto position with the car running, periodically the red led portion of all 4 lights flicker as if it’s doing some kind of bulb check. Anyone else noticed this? I’m thinking the correct way might be to code via vo instead of manually disabling the check warnings

My friends, I’m having the same issue, though it’s an E70 here, just wanted to ask, someone said there is a cable that can fix this error without coding anything off, but he didn’t remember what it’s called, been searching a bit and could use some help, thanks in advance (^^,)

Hi!

I retrofitted LCI tail lights to my 09/2007 E92 M3 this weekend. Original LCI lights together with the retrofit cable.

I have added +MUEB to the VO and FA_WRITE to both CAS and NFRM module.

I'm getting error code A8B2/A8B3. If I've understood correctly these error codes are related to right/left rear indicators. The indicators are also flashing fast, both right and left.

I have checked in INPA that my FRM module actually is a FRM2 (FRM70). I have also re-read the CAS and FRM/NFRM module to check if +MUEB actually is there, and it is.

I have followed this guide to code my VO (replaced LMA with NFRM):

http://blog.obdii365.com/2016/08/31/...by-ncs-expert/

Any idea to what I am doing wrong or what I am missing ?
