Help: n55 fuelling issue. Hpfp failure?

(2012 bmw 335i n55 fbo jb4)I recently got a code that told me I had low pressure at fuel rail. The code popped up while on the highway during a pull at high rpms it started to skip and wouldn't go so I stopped and drove the car normally. I've also been having slow start ups when the car hasn't been running for a few hours. I'm thinking its the hpfp starting to fail let me know what you think.

Made a post about this.. 9 out of 10 its the fuel regulator for the hesitant startups. Might solve the other issues aswell. Still post codes so we can identify properly

I would think if it's misfiring/going into limp mode at high rpm/load it would more likely be the HPFP. Very common failure point.

He never said anything about misfiring.. Limp mode for a fueling issue is the cyl cutting power to not further damage the vehicle (if there is any damage) I suggest we wait for his codes it will explain alot. Maybe a log aswell

Idk sounds kinda like misfiring/limp mode to me. Exact same thing happened when my HPFP was on its way out. But you're right, the exact codes and a log would help properly diagnose.

Never misfired or went to limp mode. Car drove fine right after it happened. Just when I do a pull at higher rpms and speeds it start to like cut out almost like it isn't getting enough fuel.

So since you have a 2012 there is a 50% chance you have the new style hpfp. build date?

Code P0087: Rail pressure sensor, plausibility: Pressure too low before engine start

P0087
: High pressure fuel, plausibility Pressure too low

Check your fuel sensor and inspect/replace that first before dumping cash then see if your problem persists. Then replace HPFP, Yet i thought your model had the newer pump. Drop your last 7vin here.

Thats great a lot cheaper then the older hpfp I was looking at, then it wouldn't have fit. Thank you so much for the help. Do you also have the part number for the fuel sensor you mentioned earlier?

Why ? If you tune you dont want the new style.

You can get the old style for 300 bucks re manufactured from Germany, pretty much brand new. New style is more expensive.

But to answer you, no you cant switch them.
