Firehawk Indy 500, thoughts?
I was eyeing this particular tire as I am in need of a new set and would like some good sticky doughnuts. The price is spot on too @ $109/ each with a rebate!
The reviews on Tire Rack are very good, but did not see allot of E90 owners. Has anyone had good, or bad, experiences with this tire on the E90 chassis?

excellent tire in warm temps could be better in rain(hydroplanes a bit) and run quiet..and remember they only sticky when warm.
Great value I recommend. BTW nice user name |

Thanks for your input! I purchased a set along with Sport Edition A15 wheels. Will post a few pics when I get the new shoes on.

It was really the price that caught my attention first. Less than $500 for a set of summer gum balls? count me in.

I have a staggered set up on 19s. Front 235/35 Rear 275/30. A bit more pricey at those sizes. I am still on the hunt to find them. I live in SW Florida so this tire should be favorable for the heat here. I currently have the the Michelin PSS which have been great!

My dad just got them on his 11 535i and he loves them. Coming from the Continental Extreme Contact Sports he said there's pretty much no difference. At the wheel & tire company I work for, they're a hot selling tire. Hope you enjoy them!

I ordered a set late in the winter and they were back ordered a couple months. I ended up with another brand tire due to availability. My brother has the Indy 500 on his e93 and he likes them for cruising around town.

Awesome! Thank you for your experiences. This will be the first set of nice sticky tires I have had in awhile, now I am all sorts of giddy to put them on my car.

Have them on my e93 hold great in warm hot weather, pretty loud in the cold but they hold, also like mentioned above they will have you squeezing diamonds in heavy rain.

These tires are WONDERFUL! So responsive and tactile, and after some heat is in them, it’s glued to the road. Wheels are Sport Edition A15. I have found them to be quite good in the rain also. Have not cracked 500 miles for break in though, so they should just get better. |

Maybe I got duds or something, but I hate these tires. They do not grip, they are loud and ride harshly, they are not good in the rain. Will be going back to Hankooks or Michelins

Well, I did come from a set of rock hard Goodyear tires the previous owner had on the vehicle, with an early 2016 production date code. Also, one of my stock rims had a large chunk missing from the outer edge (about 4” ) so she definitely had the shakes. One of the tires developed a very large bubble in the side wall, just appeared. So I am definitely biased in my feeling towards my new setup! This morning on the way home from work, it was raining pretty heavily and the Firehawks did excellent. There is a particular section of road that gets good standing water, as it cuts through a farm land area, and they did not hydroplane or shimmy at all up to 85~90. There is another nice twisty section, about 3 miles, yet has these amazing long banked right and left sweeping turns, getting tighter right near the end and the entire road is in direct sun all day, so the Firehawks get up to temp quickly. I was definitely impressed by the grip they provided once warmed up. Cold is still good, but they do have a tendency to have a very slight flat spot upon start off after sitting overnight; car is garaged btw. Another thing; my last set of nice summer tires I bought was the Dunlop SP8000, and those were for my E28 535. I CAN NOT, drive to the level these tires can achieve, and neither can my stock suspension. They are just really good tires for their price point and they have over 300 tread wear rating, which is pretty decent. |

The Indy 500 tires are nice and I will be picking up a set pretty soon.
Made the mistake of buying Federal 595RS on some idiot's advice. Those tires are shit, steer clear. So loud that you and your passenger will think you have an issue with the car. Literally sounds like you're rolling on tank tracks, not tires.

Have them. Love them. GREAT value. Got them when they first came out for like $100/each based on the research that they were Bridgestones under the Firestone name. now they have gone up to about $130 each.
I am going to give the Falken Azenis FK510 tire a shot.

Another update on these;
So far it has been raining quite a bit here in Wisconsin, but it has been pretty fair temp wise. I think these tires are great in the rain. The only gripe I have, the flat spotting overnight is very noticeable in the first minute or two of driving now they are more broken in. |
