e90 jerk/clunk when coming to stop
Sorry to revive such an old thread. I've read most of the threads re: this issue, still don't see definitive answers..
I have a 2006 325xi at 150K mi. I just started getting this noticeable "thump" right as I come to a stop. Feels exactly like someone running into you from behind (at low speed, of course.) To be clear, this is not the issue of a lurch on accelerating from a stop, this happens right as I come to a stop. Also, I know it's not a characteristic of the model because it just started after 150K. Popular votes seem to be NIC vs Soft Stop. Are these things expensive fixes out of warranty?Anybody finally solve/fix this for sure? I've loved driving this car, but based on how much I've had to spend on repairs this year, I think it's finally time to trade-in/buy a new car. Unfortunately, this is not a great time financially to do so, so I'm trying my best to hold this one together as long as possible...Long story short, I'm praying for this to be an easy, low-$$ fix (i.e. programming issue and not the transmission). Any advice is much appreciated! |

Old thread revival, sorry!
Did anyone ever sort this issue out? If so, what was the cause?

I'm reviving this as well, sorry. I get a thud as well when I'm coming to a stop. There is also a rocking motion coming from the drive train when I'm creeping along in first gear.
It seems to be more pronounced since I replaced a tire that has 3/32nds more tread then the rest of my tires. The car is a 2009 335xi with a manual transmission. Any ideas? Last edited by Stackedacc; 05-22-2019 at 06:13 PM.. |

It's the transmission solenoids guys... happen to my dad's car around 130+.
Here is an old thread about the same issue: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=479837 I actually have a set of new ones for sale too. Hope this helps. |
