Resetting Spark Plug Service Light
Hello,
My service light for Spark Plugs is at 4,400 miles left. I changed my spark plugs this weekend and I attempted to reset the service light (as I do with Oil, brakes). When I select Spark plugs a box with a check mark comes up instantly as if it just reset, but it's not resetting. I'm not sure why it would not allow me to reset it. The message I get is almost like when I reset my TPMS sensors, box with a check. This happens soon as I select the spark plugs, not even holding the BC button. Thank for your help. |

Hmm, idk. You seem to be doing it correctly as you know how to do the others.

did you reset the odometer to 0 and then take the key out and then put it back in?

What yr is your car, generally the spark plug service indicator is connected to your oil service as a micro filter is with brake fluid.

May be you guys are doing it right, but here are steps for my 335i
1. Insert fob, close door 2. Press start w/o brake 3. Let it settle, then press odo stalk 4. When you see service items release stalk 5. Use the up and down to get to say sparkies 6. Slide and hold for reset.

I had this same issue with my micro filter reminder. I changed the filter before the service indicator and wanted to reset it however I couldn’t do it. Once I got within a month of the time interval and started getting warnings to change it soon, I was then able to reset it. This kind of defeats the purpose of the computer controlled service reminders.
