Have you changed your TC fluid? A lot of people have remedied something similar to your symptoms by swapping the fluid out after 60k miles. Lifetime fluid is a bunch of crap, especially if you are FBO.

Which axle did you replace? If passenger, did you also replace the support bearing? The vibration most likely damaged it.

I replaced the driver side axle. I pulled the passenger side axle out and it moved freely as far as I could tell. It did not feel bad like the driver side did.

fyi i think a worn flex disc and worn center support bearing in the driveshaft can also cause bad vibration when accelerating.

Yea I replaced those at the beginning of my troubleshooting. The insane vibration is gone. However I'm getting the vibration between shifts that I originally had a year ago.

I'm thinking its something internal to the tcase, but once I get some free time I'm going to hook my camera up again and see what that shows.

So a bit more info on the "new" vibration. What I'm feeling now is the same thing that I felt before this very bad shaking/vibration that I fixed.

It feels as if the car is hesitating/resisting/vibrating under load, and off load it feels like slight hesitation and vibrating. This mainly happens after shifts and last about 1 Mississippi (1 full second). It also can occur when I am coming to a stop. In/out of gear, clutch in/out. I believe it is happening when the xDrive is adjusting front/rear bias.

The first test drive when I put the new axle in, the car was perfect. However over more driving time the vibration/hesitation increased. This hesitation originally started a year ago and I "fixed" it then by disconnecting the transfer case actuator motor to put the car in rwd.

I ordered a replacement driveshaft online, Dorman 936-310, since one of my u-joints on my current driveshaft is notchy and I am hoping that is the cause of the issue.

I have similar issue. Have a slight shaking on full throttle from mid to high rpm. Gear knob shakes and feels like it's coming from the front. Don't hear any funny noises. No misfires etc.

Did you solve the vibration that came up after the major vibration was fixed?

So just a follow up on this issue.

The front axle shaft was the cause of the violent vibration. I replaced that with a used oem part off ebay and that solved that issue.

Now the other hesitation/small vibration issue I had was actually caused by my tire size difference. I was running 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 in the rear. I switched the rears to 275s and that solved that issue. I'm guessing the slight rolling diameter difference was confusing the tcase.

If anyone is also having this issue with slight hesitation on acceleration that feels driveline related, check your tire sizes and tire wear. If the fronts or rears are worn very different from each other I would look into that.

TheJuice, thank you for your post. I was having this same issue with my e90 335xi. Bad vibration, front shaking and steering wheel violently shaking under acceleration. Ended up being my front passenger axle assembly.

After getting my wheels balanced three times, two on one set, once on another, I finally said F* the tire shop haha. Felt almost no play in the axle assemblies and boots looked fine. But the passenger side ended up being the culprit. 113k miles btw.

Great! I'm glad to hear you got it fixed. You can't really tell the axle is bad without removing it and checking.

Hey bro thanks for keeping this thread updated you literally just saved me, i am having the same issue now for almost one yr, the first wheel set up i had was 235/35/19 in the front and 265/35/19 in the rear, i really didnt this would mess up the car so bad and now about week ago i bought 265/30/19 for the rear but luckily one of the tire didnt get here so i didnt mount, i just spoke to the guy tds he said i send back he will ship the 275s for me, but just to make sure.... the set up the you have in the rear 275/30/19 right ?



since i had this issue, i changed axle, control arms, engine mounts and tranny mounts and didnt the tire was the real problem

Hey Matt, I'm about to replace my front CV axles to try and solve a vibration under load issue. Is this the support bracket you're talking about: 31508699443

Which CV axles did you end up purchasing / what would you recommend? I was planning on getting used OEM but would like to hear your recommendation since it seems like you have a bit of experience with this.
