Computer system missing settings after repair of blower motor resister
I took my 2008 328i in for a blower motor resistor repair. When i got my car back it now has a different chime and the audio system now has a gong option from -5 to +5. It used to be like 1-5 for selection. Also the menu in the dashboard with the gauges only displays check control and service info? I don't know what to do, was I just screwed?

Its likely they updated all your software to the latest version.
I would ask them about it. You should still be able to get the same display in your instrument cluster. Have you tried playing with the BC stalk. |

See detailed response in the General E90 forum to which you cross-posted. You appear to not even realize that there was a recall related to the Blower Motor Resistor & wiring harness announced October, 2017. If any shop you took it to did NOT advise you of that fact, you have a bigger gripe than a software issue.
BTW, IF any module was reprogrammed, INPA will show date of any change, and other info related to change. George |
