Best bet would be an aftermarket alarm with canbus interface. But iDrive control won't be possible.

Yes you have to have the alarm hardware installed.

Thank you... EAS did the coding, and I didn't ask (didn't know), and they didn't show me. But it was there under door locks section. Thanks again!

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but this thread is indexed in #1 position in Google searches and I hope the below information helps others.

I was trying to code the beep on lock (I didn't want to code the beep on unlock) using NCSEXPERT and all guides I found pointed to coding DWA or DWAI modules. Even though I have a factory fitted alarm (VO Code 302) I still couldn't find these modules listed in NCSEXPERT.

I did some other searches, and found that for some cars (mine is a 2010 e93 LCI 330d M Sport UK Spec) you should code the CANS module rather than DWA or DWAI which I don't have listed!

Anyway, pleased to report that coding the CANS module worked! I have have a beep when I lock the car!

I hope this helps others who may be struggling to get this to work.

I guess that it's worth mentioning that Carly for BMW can also code beep on lock and/or beep on unlock.
