I have tried it on the mirrors "glass" and it isn't the same results unfortunately. Perhaps it's because they aren't the same material.

As for updates, I'm hoping to find out something soon. Will keep everyone posted.....

Had the same water spots on my car's glass and my brother's car as well.
I used a worn out scotchbrite pad on the outside.
Becareful not to use it on the rear glass from inside as you would damage the ceramic heater lines.
I spray Stoner glass cleaner and used the pad, then I did another run with microfiber towel.
News papers/flyers are the best for not leaving streaks/lint.

Try white vinegar with a microfiber cloth. Worked for me on hard water stains.
Cheap and easy to find at any grocery store.
