Thanks for confirming, E92William--you're always super helpful when it comes to this. Now to decide whether to buy a rebuild kit (w/o knowing the condition of the motor or electronics) or just buy brand new altogether and save the headache. E92William do you have any for sale?
That's the issue with the rebuild kits, unless you know electronics are good it's kind of a gamble. I can put you a large valve together, will pm

I did the vaico one, hopefully it doesn't suck, but I trust that FCP will make it right if it does.
Is there a Volvo part that fits these BMWs?

The MSV70 is weird..

Just randomly won't idle down after a warm start. Happy sitting at 900 rpm.....

https://photos.app.goo.gl/nxWfXJ5HJoPXtYgQ9

No codes.

On the upside: I don't notice the absolutely dead passenger side engine mount when it idles at 900!

it's nice to know there's not any metal in there.

I guess we see how long the small one lasts, either it fails and makes me pull the intake again, or somehting else makes me pull it again and I do it because it's ancient.
You could remove the valves without removing the intake. I removed my original large valve to inspect - still looks and works great after 140K miles. Still haven't inspected the small one yet until I get another alternator bolt set.

Did it rain or snow in WI? It's 41 degrees here. The snow started melting so I guess it can get dirty from all the water on the roads.
Melting snow all over the place. The salt is still there, and when you drive through all those puddles, it gets caked on again really quickly. Looks like I'll get it washed again next week... blargh.

I could, but honestly it's not that hard to pull the intake so I can just get at it properly and not have to contort my arm behind a manifold.
I had it off in under an hour.

aging plastic is how it happens.
there's nothing you can do about it other than replace them before they fail.

Yup, same here. All the snow started to melt but there are not that many puddles.

There are some puddles in my neighborhood. But, on the main roads, it's clean.

Got some new continental control contact sport srs tires put on for $350 for all 4 tires. Apparently, they are better than the Continental DWS 06 and DWS 06+.

$244 back on the Pirelli's

The discount tire manager was surprised how quickly the tread wore out on the Pirelli's

Can’t get cheaper than that

I've been fighting trying get this blower motor to seat in and lock for the last hour all the videos show it effortlessly slipping into place and you rotate. Nope, not mine. I'm starting to get rug burn on my shoulders

Edit: 5 minutes after posting this I finally got it back in

That's like the video I watched of the guy just tapping the old driveshaft center support bearing off the shaft and then the new one went in with a couple taps too, meanwhile I needed a 20 ton press to get it off lol

Did a child seat top tether retrofit on my car today. Strange that it didn't come installed from the factory though as it does have ISOFIX / LATCH points from factory. It was pretty easy to do. The rear parcel shelf has to be removed, my car has the electric blind so it was slightly more involved. Once that was removed i was stoked to find the brackets mounting points were already there. The parcel shelf already had marks where the holes had to be cut. Even the sound insulation was precut. All up, it took about an hour and a half. Just need to wait for the brackets to come from Germany now. They were only $24 each. Added some pics below.
