335i drift?

I know the car is not intended for this but the more i think about it, it seems like a very nice platform to create a drift car... I was just wondering how you all felt about how well the open diff would work for sliding the car. I know a limited slip is the best.. but for starting out... how well do you think it would work... hell would it even get sideways??? let me know what you think

Well for a beginner it is easier to control a RWD car without LS. I had a 350Z with open diff and it was so easy to get side ways and correct. My s2k on the other hand required a bit more finesse.

Try turning the traction control back one click, read the manual to learn how (not off!!) and find an empty carpark building with that glossy super smooth concrete, instant super safe, very very low speed drifting! (I do a couple of nice little power slides every time a leave work late :-) be careful of the of the poles though! (335d is the best car yet, little heavier in the front and tons of touque = perfect)

Cheers stu

It's an M3, but I think some should still apply. If not, it's still fun to watch.

this is why he posted that.^ makes sense to me, the dude didn't even answer his question.

anyways, the 335i is easy to get sideways with DSC/TC off. really forgiving, even with an AT, like that one guy said.

an LSD would help though.
