wont be the first time - the early e36 318is was built in the USA - not with a lot of success either.

Well... your right about one thing. Real Italian food has pretty much no relation to what is sold as "Italian food" in the US. Especially the abuse of Garlic which real Italians use only very sparingly.

But other then that I totally disagree. American 'Italian' food is *junk*.

Ohh and my wife *is* true Italian (born and raised) and I lived 5 years in the US (mainly in the NYC area), so I am familiar with true Italian food and that sold as Italian food in the US.

But as with anything when visiting a foreign country, if you want to have the real experience you need to avoid the tourist traps. You need to go where the locals go to get the good food.

I always wondered why the best pizza shops were owned and operated by Greeks, until I saw a show on HD that said they invented the pizza. Spaghetti I knew the Chinese invented, but I didn't know that about pizza. I was even more surprised to find out Lydia wasn't born in Italy.

So dont be ignorant and act like china only makes crap and that their idiots because they dont know what quality control is. because they do, they just dont much of it YET
LOL My wife and I watched the opening ceremony and thought it was pretty amazing, I doubt we could have pulled off such a spectacle in Chicago or whatever other American city wanted to host the games.

With all due respect, I don't tend to like any product when the price remains the same or even goes up, yet the production gets shifted elsewhere. My Nikon is made in Thailand, had no choice. It's a fine camera, been in use for 3 years (dig slr). I recently saw a set of JA Henckels knives for sale at $380, but they were made in Thailand I believe. They may be just as good as German made, but at that price, I wont buy them. Has nothing to do with how hard working or not people are. There are just some expectations at various price points. When the price tag is nearly $400, I expect German made. Otherwise, I'd just buy some hack set made in China (Farberware) for $35. The latter still works, maybe heavier and less balanced.

yeah i perfectly understand, if BMW's were made in China the price would definitely have to be adjusted. another member just implied that if BMWs were made in china that the quality would be like crap because of the lack of "quality control". Just because its made in a place with less quality control doesnt mean everything produced there is a replica and cheap quality.

if BMW built their cars in china, i didnt know it would be "REPLICA" Bmws. but rather, it would be the ORIGINAL. Made by BMW. so you think if they built their cars there, BMWs would turn to crap? you are so ignorant. just because a bulk of cheap products are made in china doesnt mean everything is a pos. if the chinese didnt produce cheaper products everything would be alot more expensive

e46 325's were built in South Africa and they had the same problems that the 330's did.

You get what you pay for. Ignorant as you are I am stating the reputation for China products being inferior. Placing a plant to build it there is setting BMW for disaster. With your "superior knowledge", I am pretty sure if BMW decided to have their cars built in Korea, you say the same thing. And then state Hyndai is an excellent car versus and Honda. Give me a statistic on the successes of China made products and I will take your belief.

if you had a successful company and a "perfect" product whatever it is and relocated a plant to china to reduce cost, does that mean your product will turn into a piece of shit? cause thats what you're kinda saying. but yeah, whatever man, i dont have time to talk to ignorant people like you. its called standards, some companies have them, some dont. BMW does, therefore their cars arent gonna fall apart like those cheap toys you buy your kids or whatever for xmas

Alot of higher brands clothes or bags or even cars now adays are built/made from countrys thta have cheaper labor. I would prefer getting a Europe BMW from Europe not USA. Just my feeling. Buying a Gucci bag and the tag inside saying MADE IN CHINA doesnt look so sexy.

Machine tools and just about anything else they set their minds to. You are foolish if you discount the quality the Chinese can produce.

This thread has mentioned China an awful lot...imho they don't necessarily build inferior products. They build MRI equipment, aircraft parts, etc. Think of that next time Tom Brady complains his foot hurts.

Today I saw a set of Wusthof knives I have for........$620!! I nearly burst out laughing! I got them in 2k4 online for $299. I would never, ever, ever, pay that much for knives. And if I hadn't had bought them in 2k4 for what I did, I would be shopping for Chinese knives at a more reasonable price, maybe $50 per set. My point is I switch brands altogether, I wouldn't accept a Chinese-made Wusthof for a lower price. Get what I mean?

I think its kinda sucks that the 3 series is going to be produced in America. I'm not saying that because I don't "believe" in the American workforce or whatever crap you want to argue, but I would expect that I would be paying for a German engineered car to be produced in Germany. Seriously, People will be paying for a European Import that isn't being produced in Europe? That like saying You bought a Swiss watch that is made in America. Completely ridiculous.
