Any word on new MOT's?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows any facts on MOT changes, is it true they are getting stricter on the DPF deletes now? not just a visual any more?

Cheers

Andy

Hope so, would be about time. My mate is a MOT tester I'll ask him when I see him next.

As far as I'm aware there are no changes in regards to this. Smoke test and thats it.

Cheers for the info, a lot of hear say about it.

I personally think people should be allowed to DPF delete if they want. But that's just my opinion

I personally think people that delete their DPF should have their cars taken off them & crushed

That's fair enough!
My argument is, why are diesels being penalised for soot? Yet petrols can pump out gasses that'll kill you?
Put a hose pipe from your exhaust into your car on a diesel and you'll look stupid and head achey, do it on a petrol and you won't have to worry about having a head ache....

I'm sure there is reasons behind it, and having a powerful diesel that doesn't beltch smoke is nice.
I can wipe my finger in my exhaust tips without having cleaned them for week and my finger comes away clean!

But that's a huge block in the exhaust....

The World Health Organisation says it is.
Those clouds of diesel fumes are a major cause of lung cancer.

How much extra power does one get with a DPF delete anyway?

i think you will reach a limit where it will limit power, much like stock turbos on a 335i, fine up to a set limit.
its pretty high though.

my commute will change from 240miles each way to 5 next year so guessing i'll have dpf snags at some point!

Not really. I know someone who is considering legal action against a local tuning company.

He won't get anywhere, if he does there's something wrong with the legal system!

Believe it or not sun causes cancer and you can't claim against that....
You'll have a hell of a job proving that a tuning company is the sole reason for causing cancer, if he does have cancer then I'm very sorry for that, but then again surely his time could be better spent with loved ones....
